Day 25 - Del Norte, CO to Antonio, CO

A short post today... Kind of a transition day, riding on the highway down the pan-flat Rio Grande valley south from Del Norte, CO and avoiding the really high altitude climbing over the San Juan range and Indiana Pass.  All of us but Mike are struggling with the altitude, and he's getting anxious about the heat, so we're all hoping to catch a break by skirting the east side of the range.

Tomorrow, Mike and Ingrid our Kiwi will head south to Abiquiu, where Mike will pick up s package, and Ingrid will continue south to Santa Fe and head back to NZ as she's running out of time before her flight.  Wibke and I will be heading west to Chama, up the Conejos River gorge and over LA Manga Pass.  Not an easy climb, but we're more worried about the wind than the climbing - we'll be starting early for sure!

More tomorrow ;-). Cheers from the GDMBR!

  1. The heat is something to be worried about, if you run short on water or have heat related issues. The dry heat can be very scary. Stay cool.
